“ Look, I was never supposed to make it this far.
I got married back in ‘99, and honestly, the best thing that came out of that marriage is my kids. I love them more than life itself and I’d go down fighting for them any day.
While I was building my family, I was also grinding hard — working two jobs, raising my babies, and going to school — because I was determined to become a nurse. I started as an LPN in 2001 and finally became a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2017.
Then 2023 came for me. I got hit with bilateral necrotizing pneumonia, went septic, and ended up in a coma for three and a half months. The doctors told my mama I wasn’t going to survive. My mother and best friend stepped in and did the best they could with my finances while I was down, but it still left me in a tough financial spot.
That whole season showed me the truth: healthcare employers don’t care about you. And not many are patient advocates anymore, which is what we are supposed to be! They only care about their money.
That’s exactly why I’m building this digital business now. I want to be more present for my kids and my aging mama. I want to create my own income so nobody can ever control me again. And one day, I plan to open my own practice — one where patients aren’t just another number, but real people who get the care and respect they deserve.
I’ve been through divorce, betrayal, near death, and financial struggle. So when I say I understand what it’s like to feel stuck and overwhelmed… I’ve lived it.
